The Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu manga started serialization in 2010 in Kodansha's Itan magazine. It was by Haruko Kumota[1] and lasted 10 volumes.[2] The manga's magazine run ended on June 7th 2016 while the 10th manga volume was out the same summer.[3]
Kodansha USA licensed the series in December 2016, with the first volume coming out in May 2017 under the name Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu ("Descending Stories" being a translation of the word "rakugo"). The Rakugo Association (落語協会 Rakugo Kyoukai) supervised the localisation.[4]
